Part 2: A museum and a vacation house
Yesterday I posted the first part of our
family vacation, which happened earlier this week. Our family rarely takes "real" vacations, so it was kind of a big deal. (Our vacations usually involve cross-country driving, visiting lots of people, and/or taking many long, potentially stressful projects to finish.)
To end day one, we stopped in at a museum before settling into our vacation house. Inside there were several pioneer-made things in glass cases. Outside was a little old-fashioned town with cute little wooden buildings.

After finishing our tours for the day, we found our rental house just outside of downtown Leavenworth. The house was a good size for all 23 of us, even though we didn't all get bedrooms. First came unpacking, house inspections (being a vacation rental house cleaner myself makes me extra aware of things!), and dinner before the kids made their anxious way into the hot tub for much splashing, dunking, and enthusiasm.
The kids thoroughly enjoyed "swimming". However, the younger ones required supervision. Said supervision didn't approve of so much splashing.

And this completes day 1 of our vacation! More to come!
